Another year, another marathon!

It’s time for yet ANOTHER London Marathon this year for Operations Director Karl Howell and he’s got a couple of first timers with him this year! Karl will be running with Sales Director Liam Coombs (on his 29^th birthday) and our (superb) apprentice fitter, Dan Emmett.

Karl’s success running last year’s marathon saw him raising a truly INCREDIBLE £10,010 for the Leukaemia Care charity, chosen by Karl following owner, Andrew Goodey’s triumphant battle against it. To say the bar has been set high is an understatement!

Karl, Liam and Dan have made it their mission to not only run the marathon but to raise money for two well deserving causes in the process.

Karl and Dan will be running for the charity ‘CRY’ (Cardiac Risk in the Young) in memory of Abbie O’Keeffe (aged 18) who sadly passed away about 18 months ago now from an undetected heart condition.

“Abbie was the light and sole of any occasion, she was a truly lovely girl and we all miss her so very much.”

Cardiac Risk in the Young is a charity that supports those affected by young sudden cardiac death from undiagnosed heart conditions that affect 12 fit and healthy people each week in the UK.

Liam is running his first ever marathon for the British Heart Foundation, a charity that raise money to fund research to keep hearts beating and blood flowing. One that is incredibly close to Liam’s heart following the devastating loss of two of the most special people in his life to the cruel disease that is Heart Disease. Liam has set himself a target of £3,000, raising it in loving memory of his Mum and Dad.
